In the course of the meeting, the Parties discussed the issue on development of bilateral relations between our country and the European Union, particular attention was paid to the issue of filling the Association Agreement with actual sense, to the liberalization of the visa regime, and to the current situation in Ukraine.
In words of Oleksandr Turchynov, European prospect for Ukraine is real.
“This reality can receive concrete forms really soon. Russia understands that Ukraine has the potential which can be implemented very soon”, he said, stressing that leadership of the Russian Federation is scared that our state will transform into a powerful, strong and democratic country which will enhance Europe.
“This explains Russian aggression and its attempts to stop the process of development in Ukraine in a military way”, stressed the Chairman of the Parliament.
He emphasized that regardless of Russian aggression and those provocations happening in the east, “the government is on the way of stabilization the situation across Ukraine, on the way of decentralization, broadening the powers of regions and combating corruption”.
Herewith, Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that the government is ready for a dialogue with representatives of the East, with “those willing to act within the legal field”.
“We will have only one answer for those continuing to terrorize the region with weapons in their hands – anti-terrorist measures and efficient actions of the law-enforcement structures’, he added.
In his turn, Stefan Fule emphasized that Europe sees Ukraine as “a reliable partner”.
“European community has supported and will be supporting Ukrainian government regarding the issue of stabilization the situation in Ukraine”, he said, adding that he will do everything possible to promote the process of our country’s European integration.
